Dar Paru is located in the utmost South of Morocco on the edge of the Sahara desert. You fly either to Marrakech or to Ouarzazate. and via Marrakech to Zagora.

The most economical way of getting here (and back) from Marrakech is by the CTM Bus to M’Hamid. It is a good quality coach and costs 150 Dh (about 15 Euros) each way. You get off the bus in Ouled Driss, the last village before M’Hamid. Here we’ll pick you up.

Also very economical are collective taxis.

It is possible to be picked up at the airport for a direct drive to Dar Paru by mini bus, Landrover or taxi, or you could pick up a hire car and drive yourself.

The actual driving time from Marrakech is about 7 to 8 hours. The road crosses the High Atlas Mountains and travels through a spectacular landscape. The town of Ouarzazate is located in the foothills of the southern side of the High Atlas about half way to your final destination.

After Ouarzazate the road passes through the Anti Atlas Mountains, Agdz and the historic Draa Valley of the Kasbahs. It then passes through Zagora, through the ancient town of Tamegroute, then through Tagounite. The road now crosses the Jbel Ben Sliman. Eptering the margins of the palmerie of M’Hamid, first you pass the village of Erg Gabi, then after about 2.5 km you arrive at the charming kasbah village of Ouled Driss.

Here you turn left into a dirt road, following the sign of Dar Paru. After about 2 km, at the end of the track, you’ll find it on your left-hand side just where the open desert begins. Ring the bell of the antique entrance door, Mohammed will come and welcome you and open the carport for you if you come with a car of your own.
